few days ago i googled how to select the best watermelons, and with my new found skills yesterday i went to my local grocery store, and picked out this lovely gem in the picture. i can confirm that there are no white crates deforming the redness of this fruit, and the taste is heavenly!
so how did i do it? keep reading my young apprentice! so the first thing is to look for the creamy yellow area where the watermelon was exposed to sunlight (as you can see in the picture) - the more yellow, the more sweet the melon would be. also look for dark green stripes - a melon with dark green stripes indicates that its been allowed to mature - means less white crates to likely appear in the edible parts. don't be put off by skin grazing like the picture as they don't influence the taste/melon. also pick up the melon, it should be alarmingly heavy for its size (no kidding i had to walk home with this one and my arms had a hell of a workout). when you pick it up, slap it. you should be holding it away from your body, not hugging it! what you're looking for is a thump similar to slapping yourself on the UPPER chest (not boobs! i know you were thinking it >.<) slap a few melons, and when you find one that matches the sound as closely as possible, that's your baby.
to make the taste even better, stick the watermelon in the fridge for about half a day to allow it to cool. watermelons used to be my best friend back in iraq when the electricity goes out and its super hot outside, i'd slice a melon and enjoy the lovely scenery of the river Tigris on the swings. today i woke up 2 hours ago (3am) excited to tear this one in half, like a little kid waking up to open christmas presents lulz it was seriously worth it. i can't stop smiling, this melon brought back so many wonderful memories <3

researching trainers running v.s. training ~ i need a 2in1

i'll keep this short, as i may have a viva later today :( FFFUUUUUU!!!
so over the past few days i've been looking to get some new trainers, the ones i currently have are a simple pair designed by Next, but have stood with me through the past 2 years torment. so yeah, i was looking at nikes air, lunar and tailwind until i saw this baby:

what is this demon?! DO. WANT. the only problem is the cost! the cheapest on the internet is £150.00 exc. delivery charges. what i like about it? it looks... so awesome! its like an artwork, its like your muscles, the tendons, the weaving of the spindles oh AND the blood vessels, omg i'm in love! x.x

before i'm buying anything however i need to test the nike trainers at my nearest sports direct or something equivalent.. another problem i am having is the jargon associated with these trainers - all i want is a pair of trainers to wear for both the gym and running - be that at the treadmill or on the street.. ok pavement, or park or aghhhkjghdkjl kljdf gb you get the idea.. but i want something that would really help me out, i get blisters and swelling of the toes from my current trainers regardless of wearing the right sports socks and that needs to stop if i want to push myself.. so yeah, i need new trainers. its been awesome my trusty Next trainers but i need something more comfortable in the long term.

nostalgic for gaming..

is it just me or does that game look really really worth downloading? also, i love this song - its been playing in my head non stop all day today (though shame about the lyrics...) i've got to resist playing anything till exams are all done - aghh and the dissertation... .__.

this, among portal 2 and black ops are on my list of things i have to play when exams finish. when i do come back home, hopefully i'll also be able to properly play crysis 2 and assassins creed brotherhood.. its so annoying that the university network at nottingham blocks all ports, which sadly includes multiplayer gaming. i'll post up the dumb reply i got from their student services sometime in the future... along with the random warning i received at the start of the year hehehe makes me sound like a badass rebelling and all xD
