one easy, two hard

dammit dammit dammit. i need an exercise regime that involves me getting so tired just before going to bed. in my attempt to correct my sleeping pattern, if i try to sleep 1 hour earlier, i end up waking up in the middle of the night, and remaining wide awake for 3 hours straight. i end up oversleeping and waking up exactly the same time every day aaaaahh!
i can't just wake up in the middle of the night and be like, yeah i'm gonna work out now, mum, dad, oh hello little sister don't mind me, just gonna do some.. you know.. exercise.. get back to bed >.>
as if i'm not weird enough as it is..

one time i actually woke my little sister (back when she used to sleep in my room) just to tell her to get back to sleep. as evil as that sounds, i still get the giggles from thinking about it.

moment lulz

HCA *finishes pad change and within 2 seconds leaves the patient, still curtains drawn, leaves us both astonished (and creeped) at her speed*

me: so Chris, would you like anything to drink?
Chris: well.. do we have anything with a kick?
me: would you like some water? theres a glass of water on your table
Chris: i'm spoilt for choice

*me getting the point 5 seconds later, realising how daft offering choice was in this situation*

----

*I come to remove used bedpan from under patient, bed was wet*
me: ah oops it looks like we've missed the bedpan
cherry: sorry..
me: uhm- its really not your fault..
cherry frowns: never thought i'd be in this situation, sober.

*me trying to stay professional*
me: its no problem, its actually quite common don't worry!
me: if you roll over to your right, i can...

*cherry rolls over. i start to condense the wet sheet, realising at how wet the mattress was, i begin to dry the mattress frantically*
cherry: i didn't catch that
me: damage control.
cherry chuckles

---

more to come :)

just too crazy

think hospital work is boring? WRONG! in 5 days the following happened:

  • a fire alarm was set off in the morning conveniently on my ward, just on a day i happened to be late. no patients are gonna get any treatment without me there BWAHAHAHA~
  • diarrhoea outbreak leading to a ward closure - never fear the bugs tho, treatments must carry on (which also means moar hand washings)
  • lady fell on floor and shattered her neck of femur into little shards of bones - looks awesome on the x-ray, but painful for the poor old lady (i hope she gets better, she was really nice too)
  • killing streak on my job:
1. T-roll i suggested for a patient WAS ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTED! woop woop :D
2. stairs assessment not done by some lame student WAS ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTED coz i said so!
3. 20mins to get ready for church! fastest time i ever got a resident to get changed and ready for the day
*victory dance*

so with that aside i had today off. i went to london to get my olympic uniform sorted - and i have to say i am really impressed. the fit is amazing and the quality is yummy. thank you adidas thank you <3
its been a fine week for randomness woo ~ :]

embarrassing phone skills =_=

The best is yet to come
ok i must have done something right... today i received a phone call from the weird interview people asking me to come for a panel interview!!!! w00p w00p! regardless of how democratic that weird interview was, all i can say is alhamdu'allah. my efforts are finally paying off, at least i hope they are.
funny how i received that phone call i was in the toilet (oh yes), and my sis ran downstairs with my phone by the time she gave me the phone i tried to answer it quickly but ofcourse the ring tone was gone off for too long and i thought i missed the call. i rawr loudly in frustration at my phone as i glanced at the ticking timer indicating that the call was connected, and i hear a lady voice on the other side freaked out by my outraged rawr LOL she said 'uhm... hello?' and omg i laughed hysterically apologising as she spoke LOOOOOL oh dear lovely phone skills dania. LOOOL good thing she didn't change her mind about inviting me back for an interview hahahaa!

another time i did something like that was when i over-slept back in nottingham. i was supposed to be up at 5am but instead i got woken up by an unfortunate team leader who rang me in my sleep. apparently i screamed at her down the phone mumbling gibberish and leaving her on the line just hanging there... (i don't have any memory of actually screaming or answering the phone LOL) she couldn't stop laughing at me as i arrived late to work. she claimed she heard me rumble around the bed and adjusting my covers LOOOL

that too is true.. careful now
like with everything i do, it seems like the bad drags me down all the way through life and i only get to see glimmers of hope here and there. so i'm really skeptical of it all - happiness never lasts, to make something last you have to keep hammering that nail till it breaks.. or completely disappears. so yeah i shouldn't celebrate just yet. theres a life force of competition out there with so many people wanting what i want. even when theres a slight chance of being unique reality slaps your face back to earth. at least thats the case with me. never ever take happiness as a good thing. theres always a catch. theres always underlying decisions that will concur the outcome of your actions. it doesn't hurt to take an overall look at the situation and choose the most logical and sensible choice. though thats kinda looking a lil far so for now enjoy the feeling of interviews and prepare for the worst as it is yet to come, oh and yes it will most definitely come when you least expect it. life sucks like that. good feeling's gone. gg dania for getting on the gloom glooms and frowns out to good news.
on other news my back hurts. i accidentally did exercise today (yay?) and i think i might have over-done it..... no, actually i didn't... its just me - i'm so out of shape. i looked at myself today in the changing rooms and just thought to myself: yuck! time for a change.

new artist alliance logo

wohoo i forgot to add this in last blog post :L the artist alliance has a heart! lol get it? i mean literally!
so i did this yesterday - i'm still not convinced.. too girly i know, i feel like i ran dry on ideas dammit i really need to start slapping my hand everytime i click photoshop. i need practise on illustrator! i encountered a problem on photoshop where i had all these nice drawn shapes and paths.... buttt when i tried to merge the paths i got negative or empty areas in the wrong places on my shapes! i tried making moar anchor points but that never helped so meh..i was really annoyed! also, paths were never ever straight lines. you think they're straight but wait till you zoom in x1500 you'll be sorry, you'll be crying at how dodgy and not straight your lines are :L anyways enough of my ramblings... admire the final product above ;D

face masque

zombie? lololol xD
so i have it on, and i can't form any expressions.. what is this?!i can't move my mouth, i can't itch my forehead oh its so weird applying a face masque - blogging this because its my first EVER face masque application. ooh tingly now - i think thats the mint/green tea working now. it smells so nice too - love how its all organic :3 hopefully this mask will treat my itchy/acne skin to settle it in time for graduation day :3 fingers crossed! and LOL i make a great scary zombie hahahaha

needz moar powaa

to lift things. i went to hull today. i laughed so hard at mum's expression when she heard of my plans for today, which at an unexpected series of events, worked smoothly. i woke up late, of course, but blame that on my extra curricular activities, i.e. zombie slaying.

nevertheless, i improvised - ended up in the train station in time for my train. hull is such an easy town centre to navigate to! there are 2 shopping malls (at least i discovered 2...) and 2 high streets: the old and the new, which are somehow interlinked by an ally way making it so convenient! theres a market there too but i didn't go deep into the old town centre. today my objectives were to find something for graduation - oh and i tried nike lunar swift 2+ and lunar glide + - they were both super comfy but i prefer lunar swift as it was lighter and better fitting - plus the colours were amazing but i still find that new balance 1026 pair that i found in TKMaxx by far were much better quality, durability despite being slightly fugly.

nike lunar swift 2+ score: 8/10 too expensive

nike lunar glide + score: 7/10 too expensive but pretty o_o

new balance 1026 - these babies own! score: 9/10 fugly but amazing fit & support
i bought new smart shoes, the amazingly fitted smart trousers from warehouse, and 'basic' (probably referring to the design, its a little common imo) but amazing in quality shirt that complements any smart trousers very well - it looks so good, even better than my monsoon and miss n smart tops! i'm very happy with it :3
i also found amazing skinny jeans in stone white/ dimmed white colour that i have been eyeing for a while in the H&M store but i found in better quality at Zara, i think its cheaper too. i also bought a planner for next year from paperchase, a mask to exfoliate my face, which has been lighting up like a christmas tree full of bumps and lovely acne.. i dunno whats going on, perhaps because of the amount of travelling i've been doing? maybe because i've had less green tea, theres been more breakouts? i haven't been applying any makeup, so that isn't the problem... hmm. also my hand rash returned.. i did spaghetti yesterday, and i had steam cooking my hand causing it to become sensitized. considering the fact that i have sensitive hands, this sensation turns into dermatitis - g'dammit!
i think i broke the bank today, seriously... my weekend's money earned, went poof today ;_; time to retreat into shopping hibernation....
i started bodyrocking today - first exercise: transform your booty workout. it wasn't as bad as zuz made it sound.. i was doing the forms properly, without weights though since i'm a beginner, sweated a little... i don't feel like it did much :L meh.. i'll be doing another tomorrow along with weighing and sorting out my fridge, eating my fruits.... and yeah. i think i may go town tomorrow, i mean nottingham, well, maybe... because i really want the blazer to complement the trousers i bought regardless of the fact that it doesn't look great.. i need something that matches and the price on this baby is just too hard to resist. i'll probably get skipping rope too - but thats it! i'll be walking it there too insha'allah :3 exercise exercise exercise! i think my body is finally lean enough to carry out some fat exorcism LOL i don't get tired from a whole day's walking anymore, i need extra things to cause pain and suffering to fat.

Montemartre, Paris

Feeding pigeons at Montemartre, Paris
this was most likely one of the highlights of the trip - so as i whipped out my crêpes au sucre and fed a little to the pigeon, soon there was an invasion of pigeons swarming across the floor, following me and yasmin as we donated our food to them lol it was fun - heres a clip of it when my lil sis started feeding the pigeons, enjoy :3

Portal 2 installation & laundry day ~ hurraah!

so yesterday i discovered that i didn't get a viva - so the whole day studying was for preeety much, worthless u.u; glad i had zombie matches in the evening otherwise i would have exploded with pain sensitisation and the dairy farm reproductive issues all over my room D:
so today i've got the rest of my room to clean and going to town, walking, uphill - yeah should be a blast, now common ipod recharge, i will need you for motivational support! i think i'll be looking at trainers, trying some on and deciding on what to really get - i know they're all great, but perhaps trying them on would help me decide because right now i wanna buy them all xD
one issue i keep having is that some guys in my steam friends list keep changing their names! i'm so sick of it, for some i can no longer recognise where i met them, and how 'good' they are at zombie slaying garrr (hence the pic above heh)
i'll be playing portal 2 later today, fingers crossed my brain will do me good ;D

wait... what? wake up dindin!

don't ya just hate it when you wake up and you're still in your dream? its like when i was in jordan i dreamt...
that mum told me to hand her the comb while i was in bed, so i stretch over to grab my bag and pull out the comb, open my eyes, and its literally pitch black night time! everyone was snoring in the rooms next door and theres me thinking wtf?
well i had one of those moments this morning, i woke up and before i opened my eyes i was calculating how many days i have left to hand in my dissertation, and there i was in the future thinking that today is the 2nd of may, and i only had 3 days left. i got up this morning like a crazy person as if i just got zapped out of my bed. its only when i saw my sister that sanity returned. T__T
i think my brain is secretly freaking out at the amount of time left i have before handing in my dissertation... i mean i'm getting really worried about the shortness of it! and the opinions my dissertation tutor might conjure up and mark me down ~ DAMMIT i need to do my dissertation. ok. bye. x.x

sainsburys chat up lines

sooooo i've been thinking about making this for a while now, though for the sake of staying employed i will tread carefully. heres a little insight into where my brain drifts off while working at sainsburys - before i begin, i'd like to sincerely apologise to sainsburys for this but the long hours do drive us crazy, please forgive us for being human x.xok so now the ass kissing is out of the way, lets get down to business - get it? did you see what i did there? never mind.

so lets assume you're a girl working at the checkouts. you've got a few things to ask the customer before they can run away with the shopping. you scan items to and fro till you're done and hit enter to get the total cost. theres a little gap i like to call, checking out the customers...

what customers don't know, is that there is a hidden meaning behind the type of questions we ask - assuming the customer in question has an attractive trait of course! here are a few examples:
"do you have a nectar card?"
do you have any STIs? this makes me chuckle every time. i'm twisted sorry xD

"are you collecting active kids vouchers?"
are you single?

"would you like any cash back?"
you doing anything tonight?

"would you like any help with the packing?"
its a test of agility: customers packing vs. your awesome speedy scannings of itenz. guys who could keep up quite possibly have skillz... elsewhere (insert inappropriate quote here) >.>

thats it for sainsburys chat up lines ~ i'd love to get some insights into what the customers think of the things cashiers ask you every time you're on the spot at the check outs.

thanks for reading, and as always - have a lovely day
